Spring Cleanup

I did not get  much writing done over the weekend.

I had a girl’s day on Saturday, we got pedicures and lunch. We thought we needed a day without the guys, at lunch we decided we need at least a weekend without them.

The weather on Sunday dictated that I must do what I call Spring Cleanup. This involves putting the shoves and sleds away (yes I do not have any kids but I have a bunch of sleds. What can I say? I’m a kid at heart), clean the mess left by my barn cats and start a major landscaping project.

I even mowed the lawn, typically I don’t even think about getting the mower out until June but my patchy lawn was so long in places it was diving me up the wall. It looks good and I’m happy to report that my 3 year old lilacs made it through another cold as hell winter and are beginning to leaf out.

Hubby had to work all weekend so I was on my own and have a sunburnt back to prove it. I tried to use the spray on sunscreen to cover my back but it didn’t work very well based on the pain coming from my back.

The sooner I get the yard work done the sooner we can play this summer. Procrastination now will mean missing my favorite time of year so the writing must wait.
